A major part of the Master Investor experience is the fascinating talks given at the three stages, all of which have a different emphasis, all of which are so interesting to investors, that there will be difficult decisions to make as to which to attend and which to leave out. The quality of speakers on the Main Stage vies with the passion of CEO’s on the Rising Stars Stage, which in turn is complimented by the clinical advice to be gleaned from the Technical Traders’ Lunchtime session in the Presentation Room. Attendees are heavily loaded with the quality and the profusion of information available, which is why most attendees spend the whole day at the show, arriving early and leaving late.
Master Investor 2015 is going to be more than a fascinating investor show. Jim Mellon will bring his own brand of investor philosophy: accessible, tried, tested and highly effective. Nigel Farage is going to bring another dimension to this year’s show. Mr. Farage needs no introduction and his talk will most certainly set the Main Stage ablaze. James Ferguson spoke at the 2014 Rising Stars Stage and has now truly established himself as a favourite of Master Investor. James founded The MacroStrategy Partnership LLP in early 2013 with ex-UBS alumnus and fellow investment banker, Andy Lees. After starting his career at Nomura thirty years ago, James worked for a variety of investment banks in both London and Tokyo; culminating in Chief Strategist roles at US firm Pali International and Arbuthnot/Westhouse Securities. He has made hundreds of appearances on radio and TV and has been a regular contributor to Money Week magazine since 2004. James sits on the investment committee at Stanhope Capital, an investment advisor with over $8bn under management.
Merryn Somerset Webb is the Editor in chief of MoneyWeek and writes for the Financial Times, the Sunday Post and Saga Magasine and is a radio and television commentator on financial matters. In 1993, she became an institutional broker for SBC Warburg in Tokyo, where she stayed for five years. Returning to London in 1998 to work for BNP Paribas, she later became a financial writer for The Week. Two years later, in 2000, she took on the role of launch editor for the financial weekly MoneyWeek. In 2007 she wrote her first book Love is Not Enough, a personal finance book aimed at women. In 2011 she co-presented Superscrimpers for Channel 4.
