Jim Mellon speaking on the Mainstage at Master Investor 2013

Jim Mellon is famous for notching up the biggest ever success on the AIM market with Uramin, the company he co-founded in 2005 with $100,000 and sold in 2007 for $2.5 billion. With a substantial international property portfolio and interests in a variety of companies, particularly in the alternative energy and biotech sectors, Jim is a highly experienced and successful investor whose expert views have been closely followed at Master Investor Show.

Jim started his career as a fund manager at Griffin Thornton (GT). When he left he did so with Richard Thornton to set up his own firm managing Asian funds. He picked up a few million on that sale four years later to base himself on the Isle of Man. From there he launched Regent Pacific (of which he still owns a large percentage) and later the now listed Charlemagne Capital to invest in emerging markets.
He is also heavily invested in German property, has run over 20 marathons and is the author of The Top Ten Investments To Beat The Crunch (2009). His new book “Cracking the Code: Understand and Profit from the Biotech Revolution”, co-authored with Al Chalabi was published in April 2012.

Nigel Farage – A City Man in Politics – The realisation that our leaders do not understand business or markets.

Nigel Farage speaking on the Mainstage at Master Investor 2013

Nigel Farage is UKIP MEP for the South East of England. He was re-elected Leader of the Party in 2010 with 60% of the vote.

First elected to the European Parliament in 1999, he has used his experience of the EU to increase awareness of its activities back home in Britain.

A firm believer in independence for the UK, he is a proponent of free speech and has faced considerable hostilities from his political opponents for speaking out in favour of free and fair referendums on the transfer of powers from elected politicians to the EU.

Nigel started life in the City of London, working at Drexell Burnham and Credit Lyonais Rouse before setting up his own company as a metals broker.

He became a founder member of UKIP in 1993 and has gone on to become the Party’s best known figure. Nigel has spent his life battling for what he believes are the best interests of this country.
